Of the many types of accidents that a person can be involved in, by far the most likely is a car accident. In fact, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, millions of car accidents happen annually, with around 10.8 million occurring in 2009. In 2010, 32,885 caused fatalities. 32% involved drunk driving, 31% involved speeding, 16 % were caused by “distractions” & 11% by bad weather. 52 % were driver fatalities & 20 % were passenger fatalities.
While some of these car accidents were the result of uncontrollable factors, such as inclement weather, most were automobile accidents that occurred due to the negligence or reckless actions of other drivers. Sadly, many reckless and negligent actions of the other parties cause innocent people to be injured or die in serious auto accidents. Continue reading
